ISSUE:
Just installed Superbee for the first time. First site I went to was Pogo.
Games don't work with Superbee running.
Windows XP, IE Explorer version 6, standard dialup modem.
Adding www.pogo.com to the popup blocker "white list" does not
work. I believe the reason for this is that once inside Pogo, the
individual game rooms all have links that are similar to this:
http://play.pogo.com/rooms/roomtabs.jsp?game=gammon&site=pogo&lkey=400e8b8d0c8dd3710a66fd410000283c
Again, once you disable the popup blocker, the game rooms load
immediately.
RESPONSE: Turn off the Superbee popup blocker option when using the Pogo
site.
ISSUE: I tried and could not hook up...i attach the screen I printed with
the explanation..I thought you were our ISP.
RESPONSE: Customer uses Verizon DSL - only uses Bee.Net for website
hosting. Superbee can only be used from a Bee.net dialup connection,
and in anycase is an alternative to DSL, not somethng which should be used
with DSL.
ISSUE: I received your email about Superbee. I read everything and
clicked on the windows icon and Superbee loaded. I installed it. I
used my normal Login and password; username@bee.net, and I cannot seem to
navigate anywhere now.
RESPONSE: The username should only be your username - not your e-mail
address.
ISSUE: Downloaded file, went to install, and was told: E-mail
acceleration features have been disabled because incompatible software was
detected on this system.
RESPONSE: Yes, that is a "normal error". What has happened is that
you are apparently using some kind of AntiVirus and/or Personal Firewall
program that is processing your incoming email. Rather that override those
settings our SuperBee software has detected it. The SuperBee web
acceleration, which is what this program is really for, will still work
correctly. The email acceleration feature of the software has been
disabled so it will not create a problem.
ISSUE: When I clicked on the windows icon to attempt to download it warned
me that there may be harmful info. in this software? Is this so?
should I be concerned about downloading this software?
RESPONSE: It is normal for Windows to warn you that any download
may be harmful. This was put in place by Microsoft to alert customers that
any software is being downloaded.
ISSUE:
Someone
sent me an e-card from Americangreetings.com, which will not
load
with Superbee running. On a plus note, it does seem to speed up
general web searching in
Webcrawler and Askjeeves.
(turning off the popup blocker in
this case did NOT work I actually had to disable Superbee for the card
to load, which was a flash animation. Pretty sure it was flash, anyway.
After disabling Superbee, even with popup blocker running, the card
still loaded.
RESPONSE: Turn off Superbee
when viewing e-cards which are not displaying properly.
ISSUE:
Help. I followed the
steps correctly, I think.
1. I clicked the site listed in your e-mail to download the superbee
accel.
2. It downloaded and I was given the option of opening it or saving it.
I saved it.
3. On my desktop is a superbee icon. I clicked it and the message was to
continue if I wanted to download. I did. After the process was
completed, I received the following message: "E-mail accelerator
features have been disabled because incompatible software was detected
on the system. Another Winsock 2 LSP was detected...uninstall all other
LSPs." How does one find "all other LSPs?"
RESPONSE: This is a "normal error message". What it tells us is
simply that you are running some other type of software on your computer
such as antivirus or personal firewall that is processing your mail when
it is retreived. When our SuperBee software detects this it does not
activate the email acceleration feature of our software. This is a good
thing. The web acceleration feature of the software which is what this
software is for will still function just fine.
ISSUE: [A] huge error_log file is created under
C:\oracle\ora92\Apache\Apache\logs. There is conflict between SuperBee
Accelerator and Oracle/Apache. ...I use Oracle92, and it comes
with Apache.
RESPONSE: Likely uninstall Superbee. However, that's a lot of errors, even for a busy production
server. I would be interested to know if your log grows like that again
with the SuperBee installed. I guess it is always possible that there is
an obscure issue with the Apache configuration and the SuperBee httpis a
layered service provider but I would have thought I would have run into
that already. I run it on the same machine with IIS.
